There are a number of ways to enjoy fishing at Echo Basin Ranch. Try fishing in one of our stocked ponds for Rainbow Trout, or you can fly fish on the Mancos River for native Brook Trout... and there are lots of them! All pond fishing is catch-and-release only, leaving plenty of fish there for everyone.

If you're out for world class fishing, we work with a local guiding service that can take you on a float trip down the Imperial Waters of the San Juan River located a scenic one hour drive from the Echo Basin. Fishead of the San Juan has been taking people on some of the successful fishing trips for over 5 years. Chris Taylor can be reached at 505-634-0463 to make advance reservations, which is required. Here are some photos of our guest's results, they speak for themself. Full day (includes lunch) and half day float trips or wade trips available. Most trips with Chris average 10 to 15 fish per person and all your equipment and tackle is included. You must buy a one day New Mexico License.

Some of the biggest trout in the USA are here (catch and release, except one over 24") with over 30,000 fish per mile, this Top Five in the USA will give you a memory of a lifetime. The Imperial Waters of the San Juan River just flat out cannot be beat.
